Sensory self-judgement is something we get trapped into doing quite easily.  I remember judging my 5-year old self for not enjoying playschool. The reason was simply a lack of understanding around different sensory profiles. If, like me, you are sensitive in two or more of your sensory modalities, social gatherings and certain sensory rich activities may cause sensory overload. Once you gain knowledge around your sensory preferences and style, you can set yourself free and nourish your senses much like you would nourish your body with healthy food. We all have activities we are dying to take part in but feel terribly guilty over. Analyse the sensory need behind your behaviour patterns and replace it, if necessary, with something more healthy, helpful, and effective. Knowledge is power, and in this case, it brings a lot of peace.
