Sometimes, as an individual or as a team, we unconsciously hinder progress and success by either being too resistant to change, or too impulsive and impatient.
Did you know that sensory wiring plays a fundamental role in how adventurous or unadventurous / patient or impatient you may be?
Being too set in familiar habits as a result of sensory avoidance, i.e. trying to control the environment and prevent sensory overload, might keep you comfortable, yet static. Sensory overload is temporary, we just need to know how to re-regulate. Growth, on the other hand, should never be missed out on.
Being too eager to change things up, disrupting your routine by adding stimulation to combat sensory deprivation, may keep you activated, yet forever on the go and unavailable to self-reflect and take stock before jumping right in (or out!).
When we understand our own unconscious sensory styles and how sensory preferences influence our choices and risk appetite, passivity òr impulsivity, we are empowered to calm and regulate the bottom brain and make decisions based on top brain capacity, thinking clearly and with absolute clarity. What a gift!
